Lateef Adedimeji Opens Up on Social Media Trolls and Career Challenges
A nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has shared the emotional toll that social media trolling has taken on his wife, Mo Bimpe, and their relationship. Speaking in a candid interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Lateef revealed that his wife is often subjected to cruel comments, with some even calling her barren.
“My wife and I have faced a lot of trolling. Recently, someone called her barren on social media,” the actor said. “She always shows me these messages and tells me she’ll be fine, but I know how much it hurts.”
A Marriage Tested by Criticism
Lateef and Mo Bimpe, who have been married for nearly four years, have faced significant public scrutiny. Despite the negativity, the couple has remained resilient, supporting each other through challenges both personal and professional.
Early Career Struggles
Lateef also reflected on his difficult journey in the Yoruba film industry. Early in his career, a mentor doubted his abilities, telling him he wouldn’t last a year in the industry. Determined to prove himself, Lateef persevered, even accepting just ₦4,000 for a lead role.
Fast forward to today, Lateef has risen to become one of Nollywood’s most celebrated actors, earning accolades for his versatility and standout performances. His role in Femi Adebayo’s epic movie Jagun Jagun earned him a Best Actor nomination at the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Lateef Adedimeji credited his wife as a pillar of strength, especially during critical moments in his career. He recounted the struggles of creating his first big-screen project, Lisabi, when many of those he expected to support him were absent.
“But my wife was there,” he shared. “She helped me stay confident and focused.” He stated.
